The Disney Channel is serving up some brand new TV series and Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOMs) for any families looking for fresh entertainment this Fall. At today’s Disney Branded Television TCA panel, the network announced a handful of new content slated to hit small screens later this year. It’s worth noting that these announcements are for shows and TV movies scheduled to hit Disney Channel, not Disney+. They’ll almost definitely hit the streamer sometime at a later date, though.
The family fun begins with a handful of new DCOMs that are set to debut over the next few months. Spin debuted on the channel last Friday (Aug. 13), following the adventures of aspiring teenage DJ Rhea Kumar and her tight-knit family. And get excited for more where that came from — Under Wraps and Christmas Again are set to premiere on the network later this year. On October 1, Disney is bringing a remake of the 1997 Halloween classic Under Wraps to your home, following two kids and their new friend: a mummy. And to welcome in in the holiday season, on Dec. 3, Disney will release Christmas Again. The wintery film will follow a teenager witnessing a severely lackluster Christmas, thanks to her parents’ untimely divorce.
Kids can join in on the Marvel fun with more Spidey and His Amazing Friends, which is now slated to release seven episodes to Disney+ on September 22. The animated web-slinging series has had an impressive debut on Disney’s TV networks this month, and has just been picked up for a second season. Hop aboard for more fun with Team Spidey!
If that’s not enough kids content, Disney has more new entertainment in the house of mouse. Disney Channel is bringing a new animated series your way this October 1, debuting new episodes of The Ghost and Molly McGee for more spooky fun. Tween optimist Molly finds a friend in grumpy ghost Scratch, and the unlikely duo forms a bond that’s unbreakable — literally, because it’s formed with a curse.
And there’s some new content for the little ones, too, over at Disney Junior. Two new Disney Junior holiday movies will debut in the months to come: Mickey’s Tale of Two Witches and Mickey and Minnie Wish Upon a Christmas will premiere October 7 and December 2, respectively. Along with the films, Disney has greenlit Pupstruction from Travis Braun, following the pups of the world’s first all-dog construction company.
Keep following along for more news from this year’s TCA.
